16V lithium low-voltage battery — not the drive pack, not a 12V upgrade
This is the small auxiliary battery under the frunk that keeps the computers, locks, and safety systems alive. OEM part 1598486-00-F (silver-case 16V NMC). It only fits cars that already run Tesla’s 16V lithium architecture. Year alone is not enough.
Connectors, charging logic, and voltage are different. A mismatch can leave the car unable to wake. Professional installation is required — follow Tesla’s low-voltage isolation procedure. This is not a jump-in “plug-and-play” accessory.
Will this fit?
Check the car, then the battery label. US, EU, and China use the same 1598486 family — there is no separate regional battery. Highland / Juniper / HW4 cars may use a different lithium pack with a black case.
Check the screen. Controls → Software → Additional Vehicle Information → Low Voltage Battery Type. You need Lithium-ion. If it says Lead-Acid, stop — this battery will not fit.
Read the label in the frunk. The pack sits under the front trunk access panel. You want a silver case stamped 1598486-00-D, 1598486-00-F, or 1598486-00-G.
Reject the lookalikes. A black-case pack numbered 1875662 is LFP (common on Highland and some HW4 Model Y) — different pins and communication. A traditional 12V lead-acid pack is 1129182. Neither uses this listing. Photo of the label + VIN to if unsure.
Silver 1598486 — add to cart
Order if the label shows:
- 1598486-00-D
- 1598486-00-F (this listing)
- 1598486-00-G (later silver revision of the same family)
Typical cars: Model 3 / Y from about Oct 2021–2023, refreshed Model S / X from about Jun 2021–2023, already on 16V lithium. Same OE worldwide.
Highland, Juniper, or HW4
2024+ Model 3 Highland, 2025+ Model Y Juniper, and some HW4 Model Y cars may have either a silver 1598486 or a black 1875662. Do not order by model year. Send the label photo before you buy.
12V cars and black LFP packs
- Screen says Lead-Acid
- Lead-acid part 1129182-00-B (early Model 3 / Y)
- Black-case LFP 1875662-00-F (and related 1875662)
- Pre-refresh Model S / X 12V AGM
You cannot “upgrade” a 12V car to this 16V pack.
| Status | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Fits | Label 1598486-00-D / F / G, silver case | This is the correct 16V NMC LV battery. This listing is revision F and replaces D; G is the later silver revision of the same family. |
| Fits | Model 3 / Y ~Oct 2021–2023 or S / X refresh ~Jun 2021–2023, screen = Lithium-ion, silver 1598486 | Typical fit. Still match the stamp — 2021 3/Y was built both ways. |
| Confirm | Highland / Juniper / HW4, lithium on the screen, but you have not read the label | Could be 1598486 (silver) or 1875662 (black). Email a photo before ordering. |
| No | Lead-Acid on the screen, or part 1129182 | 12V architecture. This 16V pack will not work. |
| No | Black case 1875662 | LFP LV battery with a different connector and protocol. Do not order this listing. |

Key features
OEM number 1598486-00-F
Direct replacement for the silver-case 16V pack Tesla fitted as 1598486-00-D / F. Match the stamp on your current battery before you install it.
Keeps the low-voltage system alive
Powers computers, locks, windows, and safety modules while the high-voltage pack is asleep. A weak LV battery is a common reason the car will not wake or shows “schedule service.”
Not a 12V lead-acid swap
16V lithium cars use a different connector and charging strategy. This pack is not an upgrade path for early Model 3 / Y or pre-refresh S / X.
Install with the service procedure
Isolate low-voltage power as Tesla specifies, then fit the pack in the frunk location. Incorrect reconnection can set faults. Professional install is strongly recommended.
